Microsoft enters the Android game market

Microsoft has released its first Android game. It is a port of the popular Kinect game, Kinectimals. Details after the jump.

According to Eurogamer, the game was released today. The port is obviously not as in-depth as the Kinect version due to technological limitations, but has opened to relatively good reviews. At the time of writing this, the game has twenty reviews on the Google Play store, and stands at an average rating of 4.8 out of 5.

The game allows players to play with small cubs of varying species, including tigers. It will feature some form of connectivity with the Xbox 360, as the mobile game will allow players to unlock five more cub types for use on the Xbox 360 game. The game can be purchased from Google Play for $3.07.

Neat! This is the first I’ve heard about an Android port of this game but I could see it being a good portable answer to Nintendogs for those who chose the smartphone route over getting a DS.
