New movie, Wreck-It Ralph, finds roots in video game nostalgia

A new movie is slated for release on November 2nd, 2012. The movie, Wreck-It Ralph, is based on a video game character. Details and the trailer follow after the jump!

The main plot of the film follows a video game bad guy named Wreck-It Ralph. The character feels insignificant and ignored by the masses as the bad guy in his video game, so sets out to become a good guy elsewhere, through game hopping. The movie tells the story of his adventure attempting to do so. Wreck-It Ralph will be played by John C. Reilly, while Sarah Silverman, Jack Mcbrayer, and Jane Lynch round out the rest of the cast.

The movie does not seem to go without paying homage to video game legends and nostalgia. The trailer features numerous popular video game baddies, including Bowser, Clyde, Dr. Eggman, Bison, and more. In addition to this, the movie includes arcade systems, as well as music arranged to the style of classic video games. There’s no telling how the movie will turn out as a whole, but the inclusion of such symbols and characters might make it worth it to fans of the video game industry. The trailer can be seen below.
