Nintendo Land announced for Wii U as a launch title

Nintendo Land was announced for the Wii U today at Nintendo’s press conference. The game will be a Wii U launch title. Details after the jump.

The main idea of the game is to create a virtual theme park for Miis. The Mii will change outfits based on what attraction is being visited. There are twelve attractions, including Zelda and Luigi based attractions. Attractions will feature different games, such as throwing games. More details will be provided tonight on what role Miiverse will play in the game.

Multiplayer will be possible. For the player using the Wii U gamepad will take on a different perspective from players using the Wii remotes. An example was given in the multiplayer version of Luigi’s Mansion. The gamepad player will control the ghost, who can see all players in the mansion while the remote players cannot, and must search for him. The remotes will vibrate when the ghost is near. The ghost must be destroyed by the players’ flashlights, or the ghost must cause the players to faint by attacking them undetected. Essentially, an upgraded version of hide and seek.

More details to come!
